ABSTRACT

Cavopulmonary shunts are the surgical procedures of choice for the correction of congenital heart diseases with univentricular physiology. Unfortunately, its beneficial effects are limited by the development of complications, notably the formation of pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas, which are related to the interruption of suprahepatic venous flow directed to the pulmonary circulation.
