ABSTRACT The transcatheter aortic valve implantation has revolutionized the treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in patients likely to have complications in the conventional surgery, particularly the elderly. However, almost all randomized clinical trials that assessed this therapeutical modality excluded patients with bicuspid aortic valve, due to the anatomic and technical particularities related to this condition. Enhanced understanding about the aspects inherent to percutaneous treatment of bicuspid aortic valve stenosis is crucial to obtain better clinical and hemodynamic results.

ABSTRACT We present a case report in which a conventional intervention for the correction of atrial septal defect resulted in an exploratory videolaparoscopy and exeresis of an ovarian cyst. Atrial septal defect is one of the primary congenital cardiopathies diagnosed in adults; ovarian cysts present a high prevalence and are frequently asymptomatic. ABSTRACT Acute myocardial infarction caused by massive coronary embolism often entails dramatic procedures, because in this setting, pharmacological options are usually less effective than some unorthodox mechanical alternatives. We describe a patient presenting with cardiopulmonary arrest, and the left main occlusion of probable embolic etiology only resolved with the Fogarty maneuver which prompted immediate hemodynamic recovery.
