All articles to be assessed for publication in this journal should be sent through the ScholarOne™ system, by clicking on the button “Submission of articles”. Manuscripts sent by e-mail will not be accepted for evaluation.
After submission, the editorial secretary checks if the general rules for preparation of articles were followed, and if the content was entirely submitted (figures with adequate quality, tables, cover letter, declarations of conflicts of interest, of source of funding, approval by the Ethics Committee and CAAE number for original articles and case reports, etc.). Articles submitted not complying with these general instructions are immediately sent back to the authors, with a scheduled date for their return, for another assessment of the general criteria.
The manuscripts are analyzed by the editor-in-chief, who decides about sending or not to peer review. The articles are always evaluated by at least two reviewers. In case of discrepancy between them, a new opinion may be requested for an editorial decision. After initial peer review, the articles are forwarded to the authors for the corrections requested, and returned to the reviewers, who analyze the modifications, and can request new changes or issue their recommendation for publication or rejection.
Based on the recommendations of the peers, the article goes back to the editor-in-chief, who makes the final decision about new technical corrections, publication, or rejection, and this is communicated to the corresponding author.
After this phase, all approved articles are included in the editorial process flow, which consists of grammatical review, technical review as to suitability of scientific writing, translation by a specialist in English language, and layout. After layout, the author receives a PDF file for review and approval of the content. The approval period of the PDF version by the author is 48 hours, and once this time is up, the content is considered approved, even if the author did not inform of their approval.
Journal of Transcatheter Interventions accepts manuscripts already available as preprints, which, however, go through the peer review, as any other manuscript submitted to this journal, and may or may not be accepted after this evaluation.
This journal also supports the Open Science movement, but it does not yet require research data to be in public domains. The authors, however, are committed to making them available whenever they are requested.
Publications from January 2024 must present the name and Orcid number of the editor responsible for their evaluation. However, as our evaluation follows the double-blind methodology, Journal of Transcatheter Interventions does not make the opinions available. All communication continues to be strictly between the editor and corresponding author.
Currently, Journal of Transcatheter Interventions is a continuous publication.
