Review Article
This category includes critical and organized evaluations of the literature on contemporary topics of interest to the readers, written according to previous suggestion of the editorial board. Hence, professionals of renowned experience are invited to write the reviews. The abstract must not be structured, exception made for systematic review articles, which should follow the standard abstract for original articles.

Letter to the Editor
Correspondence of scientific content about an article recently published on JOTCI. The authors of the article addressed are invited to reply the letter. Brief comments about an original study of acknowledged clinical impact, or about a case report of great interest are also accepted.

Brief Communication
Original experiences that are relevant for understanding the topic, thus justifying presentation of preliminary data of small series, or partial data of clinical trials.

Study design
This category comprises detailed descriptions of protocols of randomized studies or multicenter registries, including hypothesis, rationale and methods. Designs of doctorate theses are also taken into account. Planned or ongoing studies, which have not concluded the enrollment of patients can be submitted. The status of the study must be confirmed upon submission. Protocols of study with no approval by the Ethics Committee will not be considered. Authors hold copyright. The abstract should be structured.

Imaging in Cardiovascular Intervention
Publication of images, including angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, intravascular ultrasound, and optical coherence tomography, besides new techniques employed or unpublished treatments in the specialty. This text does not allow discussion by the authors.

Case Report
Case reports include descriptions of patients or special situations, specially rare diseases, and innovative diagnostic or therapeutic approaches. The text comprises an introduction to show readers the relevance of the subject, the objectives of the reports at issue, the report per se, and the discussion, which should address important aspects of the case and compare them to data available in the literature. The abstract should not be structured and must have a maximum of 100 words.
